Jeanette Gellard, Principal of Innovative Influences
Passionate about working with established and emerging leaders and innovative organisations, Jeanette is an evaluation strategist, engagement specialist and communications professional. She is highly regarded in the agricultural and environmental sectors across Australia where she has undertaken numerous roles that have included evaluation, stakeholder engagement & liaison, strategic planning and public policy.
Jeanette has over twenty-five years’ experience working with people in rural and regional Australia in a number of roles that have included advocacy, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning and public policy. In 2001, Jeanette was the recipient of the RIRDC Rural Woman’s Award and in 2003 she was recognised for her work in the rural sector by being awarded the Australian Government’s Centenary Medal. Jeanette has a strong interest in engagement, extension and evaluation and is a member of the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2), Australasia-Pacific Extension Network (APEN) and Australian Evaluation Society (AES).
Jeanette established Innovative Influences in 2011, to focus her work around three key areas –Stakeholder Engagement, Program Evaluation and Strategy Development. She has undertaken a number of large review and evaluation projects for both the agricultural and natural resource management sectors. She has delivered stakeholder engagement services for community-based wetland management plans, threatened Species Recovery Plans, Biodiversity and Biosecurity Strategies, and environmental and water resource policy development. Before establishing Innovative Influences, Jeanette was General Manager with the Kangaroo Island Natural Resources Management Board where she led the development of natural resource management policy and planning for the region and evaluation of the Regional NRM Plan.
Jeanette brings a high level of innovation to her approach with her ability to think laterally, explore creative options and develop pragmatic solutions. She is experienced working with leaders and executives and is a current and past Mentor in the South Australian Stepping into Leadership program as well as facilitating the APEN Mentoring program.
Jeanette’s initial qualifications in agricultural science and business administration (MBA) have been complemented with further study and training in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, leadership and coaching. These have suited her shift towards a more people-centred practice.
