Nursery Emerging Leaders Program

About the Program 
The Nursery Emerging Leaders Program is a 4-month Nursery Levy subsidised leadership development course for individuals connected to and committed to the Nursery Industry.

Driving the future of the Nursery Industry, Nursery Emerging Leaders is a program for building leadership skills and extending industry networks. Put together with a passion for relevant and experiential learning, this program is a unique combination of personal and professional development. Small cohorts support a personalised learning environment.

This subsidised program is ideal for emerging leaders passionate about driving positive change in the Australian Nursery industry. Individuals with a desire to enhance their leadership skills, develop strategic thinking, and contribute to the future of the sector are encouraged to apply. Industry levy payers in particular are encouraged to apply. Full consideration will be provided to all applicants regardless of age, gender, race or other distinguishing characteristics.
 
What's involved? 
The program consists of 1 x 3-day residential workshop, 1 x 1-day workshop, 3 x 2-hours of online seminars, and up to 10 hours non-contact program activities. The first residential workshop will be held in Melbourne during Australian Horticultural Trials Week.
Program Elements

Immersive Learning: Participants will increase their understanding of the principles and theories underpinning effective leadership and develop their own leadership skills.
Industry Knowledge and Awareness: Participants will be provided exposure to industry insights and innovation through industry experts and field trips.
Practical Exercises: Participants will put theory into practice through exercises and activities, learning by doing.
Peer Learning: Sharing insights and experiences from fellow participants who bring diverse experiences and perspectives.

​jAm I eligible?
To be eligible to participate in the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Reside in Australia. 
  • Been employed for at least one year in current role in a nursery-related position. 
  • Demonstrate the willingness to learn and apply leadership skills within the nursery community. 
  • Obtain employer permission if accepted to program. 
  • If self-employed, establish the ability to be away from his/her business for all scheduled events.  
  • Commit to completing activities and reports as needed to successfully complete the program. 

Is there a cost involved in participating?
There is no program fee.  All course materials, and workshop meals are provided as part of the program. Participant travel and accommodation costs and any small incidental expenses associated with the program are the responsibility of the participant. 

How to Apply

You will be able to save your application and come back to it later if needed. As part of your application, you will be asked to upload a headshot and your CV/resume. Full consideration will be provided to all applicants regardless of age, gender, race or other distinguishing characteristics.

Yes, you can! Talk to the person you wish to nominate and provide them with a brief letter outlining that you wish to nominate them for the program and your reasons for doing so. You nominee will be able to upload your nomination as part of the application process.
